Leading IP Litigator John Harbin Joins Firm
April 22, 2015
Meunier Carlin & Curfman LLC announces today the addition of former King & Spalding partner John Harbin, adding additional expertise to the firm’s growing intellectual property litigation practice. John will combine his decades of litigation experience in complex intellectual property litigation to serve key clients and industries throughout the country.
John is a long-time, trusted Atlanta trial attorney with over 30 years of experience in intellectual property and complex business cases, having tried numerous jury and bench trials in jurisdictions throughout the country, as well as the ITC and in several arbitrations. John began his career at Powell, Goldstein, Frazier & Murphy, and has tried a wide range of IP cases in various technologies, including computer hardware and software, telecommunications, aerospace technology, industrial equipment and processes, medical devices and biotechnology. John is well-known as a formidable talent in the court room.
John’s most recent trial win was defeating an infringement claim concerning mechanical patents at the ITC, with the Commission affirming the ALJ’s non-infringement finding in February 2015.
“John is an excellent IP litigator,” said partner, Steve Schaetzel. “He has an impressive reputation of favorable results in high-value cases in both state and federal courts. His expertise and innovative approaches make him a significant asset to the Meunier Carlin & Curfman team. We are delighted that he has joined us.”
The addition of John Harbin continues the firm’s expansion, and significantly enhances the firm’s litigation expertise. Meunier Carlin & Curfman recently relocated to a new office space due to significant expansion of business and personnel since the firm’s inception in 2010. The firm’s intellectual property litigation practice has grown exponentially, and has received national recognition in Chambers USA and Best Law Firms for its ability to try complex matters involving patents, copyrights, trademarks and trade secrets.
The economic impacts in the recent past have revolutionized the legal industry. Meunier Carlin & Curfman LLC is at the forefront of these changes with its first-rate service and value, without compromise. The firm provides the unique setting for top attorneys who want to practice their trade while remaining consistent to the business and budgetary goals of their clients.
“We are a full-service IP firm, and John’s addition expands our litigation practice with an excellent litigator whose credentials are second to none,” said Steve.
